When you are traveling abroad for a vacation you want to try to find out at least a few things that you can do when you arrive at your destination to make sure its all worth while. This of course depends very much on the type of holiday you are looking for but when it comes down to visiting capital cities in the world your options will tend to be sightseeing, shopping, or plain relaxing in a hotel.
Here we are discussing what you can do when you arrive in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malasysia. Its a fairly large city with almost 2 million inhabitants and there is a lot to be seen and done, and a lot of shopping too if you are this way inclined. Here though are a few places that you may well wish to add to your itinerary list.

* visit Chinatown at night. Petaling Street is the original street in KL’s bustling Chinatown. Lots of authentic merchandise on offer here, or if shopping is not your thing, why not try the delicious Chinese foods along the way.
* go and see the Batu Caves. Devoted to the god of war and victory, the Batu Caves are among the worlds best known Hindu sites. It consists of 400 million year old limestone caves, some of which reach 100 meters in height.

Finally, a more adventurous way to embrace nature would be to take a jungle walk away from the busy city streets. In this jungle tour you can enjoy the diversity of living species within the tropical forests of Malaysia and a sense to be living in most natural habitat in the world.
These tours vary greatly between the various tour operators so its best to do a bit more research before you decide which tour is right for you.
Take a look at the Craft Centers. Watch a talented craftsman as he creates another masterpiece. You can also purchase some of the artworks available in the gift shops and these make very good souvenirs and presents for loved ones.
* and if shopping is your thing… Kuala Lumpur provides the avid shopper with pretty much all they can handle from shopping malls to antique stalls. Local and foreign brands are sold here at all sorts of prices so its wise to shop around to find the best.
