Disney Grad Nite Is A Night To Remember

Published on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 by Julie Jones

High school seniors have been attending Grad Nite and Disneyland since’61. It is a great way to celebrate a graduation. Disney also has Grad Nite at Disney World in Florida. In California, though, they celebrate at Disneyland in Anaheim. Disney Grad Nite is a great place for graduates to spend their last night in high school.

There are many celebrities that play on Grad Nite and give concerts. There are a lot of fun things to do during the event and a lot of live music with some surprise celebrities showing up time to time. It is amazing.

When it comes to entertainment, Grad Nite at Disneyland only has the hottest singers playing to help make the night unforgettable and amazing. Disney only brings out the best. You can rest assured that it will be a night to remember.

While Grad Nite doesn’t officially kick off until 11pm, they came up with Blast Off, which is in California Adventure a few hours before Disneyland opens. It normally starts at 9pm and goes until midnight. California Adventure also has some really cool things for the graduates.

There is one restaurant open where the students can redeem their food vouchers. All students will receive one voucher for California Adventure. Graduates can choose from a cheeseburger or chicken salad with french fries and drink. It is a good idea to have the students eat here first.

The official time Grad Nite at Disneyland opens is 10:30 but then only Main Street is open. The rest of the park doesn’t open until 11:30pm. There is a firework show just before the rest of the park opens. Only the most popular rides are open. The park is them open until 6am but no one is allowed to leave until 5am, and then only if their chaperon escorts them to their ride. The only way they can leave before this time is if there is an emergency.

The park has fun decorations everywhere. There are even booths that are sponsored by different companies. The parade is also fun to watch. The theme of the parade is the top forty songs of that year. Most areas also have special lighting that is impressive.

With four dance floors, your graduates will have a great time dancing and listening to celebrity acts all over the park. The stage that is right in front of the castle features KIIS FM and they offer great music, strobe lights and fun images that are projected onto the front of the castle.

Each school that participates needs to have a certain number of chaperons, depending the the total students that they have attending. Disney treats chaperons with great treatment, though. There is a chaperon’s headquarters where they can snack, watch TV and even get massages. The chaperons are responsible for the behavior of their students and if anything comes up with the graduates they must attend to it. They actually have a big job.

If your school is considering Disney’s Grad Nite for the upcoming year, it is really something to consider. Graduates will create many lasting memories that they can take with them of their last days in high school. Let them celebrate- they have worked hard for it. Plus, it is a lot of fun for the chaperons.
